Kiss Me Kate

KISS ME, KATE will be presented in the Neglected Musicals format at a new venue behind the Sydney Lyric.

THE FOUNDRY THEATRE

Kiss Me Kate

Cole Porter’s legendary musical comedy Kiss Me, Kate comes to The Foundry Theatre in April 2025!

Inspired by The Taming of the Shrew, this treasured 1940s musical takes audiences backstage on Broadway, where chorus girls, singing gangsters, and fiery romance collide. Featuring beloved Cole Porter classics like Brush Up Your Shakespeare, Too Darn Hot, Always True to You (In My Fashion), Tom, Dick or Harry, and So In Love, this all-singing, all-dancing production promises an unforgettable theatrical experience.

At its heart, Kiss Me, Kate is a love story—of two people who can’t stand each other… or can they? Sparks fly on and off stage between Fred Graham, the show’s director, producer, and leading man, and his co-star—who just happens to be his ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi.  Directed by Lisa Callingham, with musical direction by David Gardos, this ultimate Golden Age musical is brought to life by a stellar cast.

“We have assembled an amazing cast for this wonderful and classic musical,” says producer Michelle Guthrie. “Kiss Me, Kate is one of my favourite musicals—not just for its unforgettable Cole Porter score, but for its old Broadway magic.”

Don’t miss this dazzling production at The Foundry Theatre this April!
